About DTC Grip & Electric

DTC Grip & Electric was established in 1983 by a trio of motion picture and commercial gaffers. Since then it has grown to become the largest provider of lighting and grip equipment in the Bay Area. As the production market has swelled in Northern California, DTC has expanded to fill those needs, keeping up with the latest trends and technologies in the film industry.

Our rental division offers everything a lighting professional could need including a wide selection of HMI’s, Kino Flo, incandescent lighting, Chimera, Theatrical lighting, LEDs, cable, distro, grip gear, and soft goods. Our generator selection ranges from 1000 watt putt putts all the way up to our 1400A tow plants. We also offer a wide range of camera dollies, including the Fisher 10 & 11 models, jibs, accessories, and enough track to achieve the most challenging and creative camera moves. Our in house store carries a large selection of expendables that any job may require.. Finally we offer the DTC fleet of preloaded grip vehicles. Whether you opt for the speed and convenience of our 1 ton Sprinter Van, or go large in one of our 10 ton Grip, Electric, or Combo trucks, we can tailor a lighting package to fit the individual needs of any sized production.
